Parent Information

Welcome to the Del Valle Child Development Center – North! We’re proud to partner with you in your child’s early learning journey. Below are key things to know for a smooth and successful school year:


๐Ÿ•’ Hours of Operation

  • Regular Hours: 6:45 AM – 5:10 PM

  • Head Start Hours: 7:30 AM – 2:30 PM (arrival by 8:00 AM)

  • Staff Development Days: 7:00 AM – 4:40 PM

  • Late fees begin at 5:11 PM.


๐Ÿ“… Attendance

  • Children should arrive by 10:00 AM (unless excused by a doctor’s note).

  • Call the front office by 8:00 AM if your child will be absent.

  • Children absent 5 consecutive days without notice may be withdrawn.


๐Ÿš— Drop-Off & Pick-Up

  • Sign in/out daily at the classroom log.

  • Only adults listed on the Emergency Pick-Up Form may pick up a child. Photo ID is required.

  • Siblings must be 14+ to pick up, or 18+ for Head Start.

  • For safety, no cell phone use during drop-off/pick-up.


๐Ÿงผ Health & Illness

  • Children with fever, vomiting, or diarrhea must stay home.

  • A doctor’s note is required after 3 days out or to return after illness.

  • Children must be picked up within 60 minutes if they become ill.


๐Ÿงƒ Meals & Nutrition

  • Meals provided through CACFP: breakfast, lunch, and snack.

  • Children over 1 must eat table food; no bottles or baby food after age one.

  • Food from home must be labeled and in single portions.

  • No candy, soda, chips, or other “limited nutrition” foods allowed.


๐ŸŽ’ What to Bring Daily

Infants:

  • Diaper bag (no hand sanitizer), diapers/wipes, 4 extra outfits

  • Bottles, labeled pacifiers, baby food if not using ours

Toddlers & Preschoolers:

  • Diapers or extra underwear, water bottle, backpack (no sanitizer), 3 extra outfits

  • Crib sheet & blanket (washed weekly)


๐Ÿงธ Reminders

  • No toys or valuables from home, unless specifically requested.

  • Children go outside daily—please dress them for the weather!

  • Parents are always welcome but should remain at the classroom doorway.


๐Ÿ“ž Communication

  • We use ParentSquare for messages and updates.

  • Please call the classroom phone for urgent needs. No texting staff.

We believe in open, respectful communication. Please speak with your child’s teacher or the Director anytime. If concerns continue, we’ll schedule a conference to work together toward a solution.
